D. Clancy & Sons started in South Boston in 1975 and is now based in Quincy. Our crew does interior demolition, kitchen and bath tear-outs, commercial strip-outs, cleanouts and construction debris removal in Boston, and our compactor truck live-loads the debris at the curb. Below is what the City itself publishes about demolition permits, streets, site cleanliness and debris.
What Boston asks for before a demolition permit
Rodent control on renovation work
- Boston will not issue a building permit for renovation, conversion or new construction until the applicant shows the premises have been treated for, or are free from, insects and rodents (City Ordinance Article 16, Section 31). — Boston Inspectional Services
Streets, dumpsters and site cleanliness
- Boston’s street occupancy application asks the length of the truck being used and how much of the street, in length and width, it will use. — Boston Public Works
- Contractors and developers do not need a Site Cleanliness License for construction dumpsters. — Boston Inspectional Services
Construction debris
- The City of Boston does not collect construction debris and tells residents to find a private hauler for it. — Boston Public Works
